Project Design

The area of the Messe in Köln situate its future on the growth of its fairgrounds, its popularity, and the settlement of new business, but nowadays it seems not to be prepared yet, for it. Having a very industrialised enviroment, it makes people just go directly from their hotel to the fairground, for later go to the center of the city. With this hotel our main goal is to change the way visitors and hosts move on the area.

Disposing a concept of city inside the hotel, we tried to create a welcoming atmosphere, through the movement of the fachades, with its plaza inside. Otherwise, the concept follows the axes of the pre existent messe, making a dialog between both sides of the main street, and driving the citizen to an attractive, pleasant, and different space, the park.

The hotel is created as an idea for making people enjoy their stay, with several public and leisure spaces, and a diverse range of rooms. As well it becames part of the city including on it, a plaza, restaurants, offices, gym, wellness center, and even a kindergarden.

We believe on the think that people should not just come and go, without do a way around the place they stay in. At the same time that we think about taking advance of the closeness of the area with the city center, and not only think on the temporal visitors if not ,taking in account with the multifuncional concept, Köln’s citizens.
